Avery Chenin serves as an Individual Trustee bringing a rare and comprehensive perspective gained from “wearing many hats” throughout the ESOP world. Over his career, he has served as a transactional attorney, represented multiple Trustees as counsel, navigated ESOP litigation, and even served as General Counsel of SCJ.

This multifaceted background allows him to analyze complex fiduciary issues from every possible viewpoint to ensure the best outcomes for the plan. For Avery, the most rewarding part of the job is “the story”—from the founder’s vision of rewarding their team to the life-changing retirement of a long-term participant.

When he isn’t focused on ESOPs, Avery defines himself primarily as a runner, having dedicated 40 years to long-distance training. The endurance required for the road has taught him invaluable lessons in patience and how to push through difficult challenges to find a successful finish line.
