Steve James is the Founder of SCJ and serves as an Individual Trustee drawing on his deep-rooted experience as a former operator, internal Trustee, and CFO of an employee-owned company. This background gives him a holistic and practical understanding of how M&A functions and how value is derived, which greatly enhances his expertise throughout the valuation process. Steve’s favorite part of serving employee owners is the opportunity to partner with organizations that choose to share abundantly, fostering a culture that prioritizes people by creating life-changing financial opportunities.
He is an eternal optimist who prides himself on seeing the good in all things and everyone he meets—a perspective bolstered by an exceptionally sharp memory.
Even outside of his fiduciary role, Steve believes in staying strong; at 62, he can still bench press 300 lbs and leg press 800 lbs. He brings that same power, dedication, and positivity to every company and employee owner he serves.
